Well done! You have finished the race and read our Stage 1 and Stage 2 guides for preparing for a marathon. Stage 3 focuses on the key recovery stage for repairing your muscles.

You Will Need:

Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate 99.5% ACS,FCC (Epsom Salt)

Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate 99.5% ACS,FCC

Key Information:

Soaking in Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate 99.5% ACS,FCC (Epsom Salt) baths after running or extensive training can help prevent inflammation and irritation in your joints and muscles. You can also use this same warm Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate 99.5% ACS,FCC (Epsom Salt) water solution to treat sprains, strains or sore muscles.

In water, it breaks down into magnesium and sulphate. The theory is that when you soak in an Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate 99.5% ACS,FCC (Epsom Salt) bath, these get into your body through your skin. That hasn’t been proven, but just soaking in warm water can help relax muscles and loosen stiff joints.

The Ultimate Epsom Salt Bath:

For a standard-sized tub, the suggested amount to use is 1 to 2 cups.

Add the Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate 99.5% ACS,FCC (Epsom Salt) while the water is running to help it dissolve.

The water should be very warm — not hot, but comfortable to touch.

Keep the part of your body that hurts in the water for at least 12 minutes. Just relax.
